My daughter is 41 today.
Instantly, I recall a warm winters glow!
Remembering well the birthdays of February snow!
Outside the living room window,
Icicles drip a rhythm to the passing of winter.
Warmed by the wood stove,
Jessica plays on the floor with her toy horse.
A gentle loving memory nudges me unconditionally.
Was she nine or ten?
Peering out the dinning room window at natures splendor,
The maples bare branches contrast with natures glistening blanket,
Hemlocks, evergreen, promise of summers to come.
A snow covered trail through the woods invites!
Should we go sledding?
Oh yes, laughing all the way!
Warmed to the core.
